For ladies who like to have curled eyelashes everyday without using a mechanical eyelash curler which is time consuming and can weaken or break the eyelashes, this sounds really enticing.
Suitable for most types of eyelashes Eyelash perming entails permanently curling of the lashes using a chemical treatment applied to the eyelashes, which enhances the appearance of the eyes. The perming process can take up to an hour depending on the condition of your eyelashes and the results typically last about two to three months. The lashes are curled up and appear longer immediately and this treatment is even suitable for those with short sparse lashes. Eyelash perming is not for everyone Additionally, you may like to know that eyelash perming is not suitable for everyone. This treatment is not recommended for those with eye problems or disorders. Those with hypersensitive skin should also avoid this treatment altogether. Allow 24 hours before other treatments to your eyelashes In addition, you shouldn’t be wearing contact lenses and your eyelashes should not be tinted before perming or the color of the lashes will be lightened by the treatment process. However, tinting is effective following eyelash perming. This is a semi-permanent method of curling your eyelashes. Curled eyelashes will enhance the appearance of the eyes. This is a method of enhancing your eyelashes and your face giving an ‘open eyed’ look. What happens during the treatment Using a small roller and water soluble glue, the lashes are rolled and separated to help ensure a beautiful natural appearance. Perming lotion is then applied to the lashes and left for 15 minutes followed by the application of a neutraliser. This is then left for a further 15 minutes under cover. Finally, damp cotton wool is used to gently remove the roller, leaving you with enhanced curled eyelashes. For improved effect, tint may be applied directly after wards.
F.A.Q Q: Is it true that eyelashes can be permed? A: Yes. There is a process called eyelash perming that works using the same principles as standard hair perms. As with most cosmetic inventions, the process has slowly been spreading across the globe and gaining popularity. In short, the procedure involves a “rubber form” which is adhered along the eyelids and the lashes are directed around the form using a brush, or other tool and adhesive. A perming cream is applied, allowed to process, and then neutralized. The process takes approximately an hour. As with other perming processes, eyelash perms can have varied results, and successful procedures depend on the quality of the products used, and the skill and experience of the technician performing the service. Q. Can I wear mascara or eye make up prior to my appointment? A. No. Remove the eye make up with non-oily cleanser or eye make up remover, ensuring lids and lashes are thoroughly cleansed and dry, otherwise rods will not adhere to the lids.
Q. Can I wear my contact lenses in my appointment? A. No!
Q. Can I wear mascara after the perm? A. Yes of course! I do not recommend water-proof mascara and the use of mascara remover, they tend to weaken the perm.
Q. What should I use for cleaning my face after the lash perm? A. Use mild cleansers only. The daily use of (some not all) AHA's products tend to weaken the perm.
Q. How long will the eyelash perm appointment take? A. About 45 - 55 minutes depends on how long and coarse the eyelashes are.
Q. Can I get an eyelash tint after the eyelash perm in the same appointment? A. Yes!
Q. How often can I repeat the eyelash perming? A. The eyelash curls will begin to drop gradually (one by one) after about two months. The entire lashes will take about another 2 months to return to their natural look.
Q. Can I use my eyelash curler? A. No! You don't need it.
Q. Will I lose any of my lashes because of the perm? A. No. However, it is perfectly normal to lose one or two eyelashes daily. It happens to all of us! New eyelashes will grow in place of old ones. Actually, using the eyelash curler daily will cause the eyelashes to fall.
Q. Does the eyelash perm hurt? A. No.
Q. How will my lashes look after the perm? A. Lashes appear longer and fuller.
Q. Will I have skin irritation or reaction? A. Very few people had some skin reactions, puffiness reaction or burning on their eyelids the next day. Cold compresses for few minutes will do the trick !
